A Barn Life

It was a beautiful day
and people from far and wide came
for a barn raising.
While the men were working me,
the women were making food for the meals.
Finally the men finished me.
They made my walls and roof strong.
I keep many animals safe
for years and when my owners got older
he have me to his kid.
He kept me strong and my silo full of food
for the animals in the winter.
He got older and his kids moved to the cities
so little by little I fell apart,
and there was little left of me.
The scientist found me
and I became a landmark.
Years went by but I was still falling apart.
Finally my owner came and built
my roof and walls strong.  So I got
handed down for generations to come.

Down on the Farm

Down on the Farm.
When the roosters crows,
The cow moos,
The can meows, The dog barks.

Time to get up the farmer says,
Dow to the barn he goes
To milk the Cow.  The
Baby Calves drink from their moms.
Pigs eat their slop.  And yum yum yum.

The farmer starts his tractor
and goes to the field.
A log day of planting
is a job well done.

Time to go in to have some supper.
He checks on his
cows one last time before turning out the lights.
Tomorrow brings another day.

Secret Hiding Place

Between the stalks of hay,
There's a place I hide very day,
I hide there every day,
Because I want to play.

Nobody knows about it,
Because I never tell,
I crawl i there and sit,
One time I almost fell!

I know the can can see me,
Up in the loft of hay,
The cat is gone, where is he?
He's playing with a ball of yarn

Now you can tell,
I live on a farm,
Living her is swell,
Isn't that a charm?

Down in the Farm

Down in the farm,
the chicken goes caw,
The cow goes moo,
The horse goes nay,
The dog goes bark,
and the can goes meow.

The Chicken

One day I came home and looked at my skillet.

It was empty.

I needed something to fill it.

I thought how to cook it.

Fired or potpie'd.

Toasted or roasted.

My lips I was lickin' just thinking about that chicken.

I set up a trap.

And took a little nap.

i woke up with a start.

Not feeling very smart.

My lips I was not lickin'.

Because there was no chicken.

Student: Tyler Cloutier

The Farm

All the animals weep
When they have to go to sleep.
But when the horses get up
They get to run the courses.
And when the pigs get up,
they get to dig i the deep, deep mud.
And when farmer Brown gets up,
He has not time to act like a clown.

Student:  Lisa Rydeen

When Cows come home at the End of the Day

When cows come home at the end of the day,
They swish their tails in a gentle sway,
And when the farmer looks the other way,
The cows go out to play.

They play their fiddles and dance around,
Do you want to know what one cow found,
She found her slipper that she lost yesterday.
When cows come home at the end of the day,
They swish their tails in a gentle sway.

Oh How I Love the Farm

The morning comes
The roster crows
The farmer wakes
The chickens cluck
The seep go baa
The cows go moo
Oh how I love the farm.

The hay bales out in the field
Look like little playgrounds.
The animals sigh
As saying thanks for the food
Oh how I love the Farm.

The farm is where the animals sleep
The farm is where the animals eat
The farm is where there's always be an opening
For each and every animals dreams
Every animal means a different thing.
Oh how I love the farm today.

Student: Tony Nelson

Animals

The animals are fuzzy
They're very busy trying to feed there babies
An to give milk to the work
They keep us healthy to keep us Strong.
And play and have lots of fun.
If we did not have milk we would not be
Healthy or strong.
The animals are fuzzy and
Cuddly too.

Student: Matthew Wilson

Barns

There are round,
square barns,

And tons more that I don't know of,
So I hope to learn tons more.

His name is Thomas
The color of my cat
Is what and Orange.
I have a dog too
And her name is fireball

She has green eyes too
And she does not eat too much
I have a cow, a horse, and a chicken.

Student: Luke Erickson

Sleep Time

The sun is setting,
The chickens are in a huddle,
The sky is turning black,
The cows are laying down,
The moon is bright tonight,
The grass is cut,
The hay is stacked,
The horses are asleep.
It is time for all animals
To go to sleep.

Student:  Michelle Graf

My Day On The Farm

I wake up each morning a cock-a-doodle-doo.
So I get up because I know I have a Lot to do.

I go and feed the horses hay,
the foal is happy; O it will be a wonderful day

I go and see what the cows are doing
They are moving because my dad is chewing

The chickens have eggs for me to take
I give them to mom for her to bake

While eating lunch dad runs
He said Rosy had a calf and we named him Tim

I go and see little Tim
He's not too healthy because he's thin

It's been quite a day
But now I have to go in and there's no time to play

Student: Lauren Pauley

Yellow Hay

The yellow hay soft and sweet,
Soft and sweet the yellow hay,
That the horses love to eat,
Eating, eating all day long.

Cows will eat just as horses,
Their warm sweet hay soft enough to eat,
Barnyard closed another day,
The yellow hay soft and sweet,
That the horses love to eat.

Student: Matt Weber

FARM YARD

Fun
Awesome
Really Hard
Mouth full of food

Yelling our head off with laugher
A big field of corn
Fun away from the bull
Drinking milk and cookies.

Student: Abby Thompson

Run away pony,
Run away home.
Run away pony,
Run under your dome.

"Giddy up" says lone ranger,
"Your ot in such danger."
Run away pony,
Run under under your dome.

"Whoa" said Ma in the meadow of flowers,
"You ponies sure have some power.

Run away pony,
Run away home.
Run away pony,
Run under your dome.

I am a Farmer

I am a farmer,
I love to farm.

Every day I have to pay,
For my horses hay.

I am a farmer,
I love to farm.

Every day I pick up poop,
And I hate to scoop!

I am a farmer,
I love to farm.

Student:  Ellyn Swenson

Farming

Now the day is done
From working in the sun
That makes you want to run
From working tons and tons

But when the day is done
It's time to have some fun
Like trotting that horse
And soon you have a curse

So when the day is done
From working in the sun
And having tons of fun
It's time to go to bed.
