a centre for creativity, in collaboration with St. Croix ArtBarn
Theatre, will present a new ultimate adult revenge comedy,
The Smell of
the Kill, by Michelle Lowe. Production dates are
Saturday, March 10 and Friday and Saturdays, March 16 & 17 &
23 & 24 at 7:30 PM.
The story revolves
around three wives who have tolerated one another for once-a-month dinners
for years. Their husbands leave them this night to play golf in the
living room. We hear the men's voices as they bellow orders and make
demands. The women, having reached personal limits in each of their
lives, exchange confidences for the first time. Sharing secrets,
they all realize each is facing the challenge of their life: one
husband has been indicted for embezzlement; another is stalking her; and
the other is being left for another woman. When the men accidentally
lock themselves in a basement meat locker, the women are faced with a life-or-death
decision-should they leave the men "out in the cold"-permanently-or will
the chill of their relationships thaw out? One by one, each make
a choice, with more than a little help from others. How desperate
are these wives? You'll have to wait to find out! The cast
includes Danette Roberts, Dresser; Lynn Steiner, Stillwater; and Ellen
Johnson, Osceola.
