copyright © Protected by stcroixartbarn.com The Ingredients of Love 1-Love is patient with other people because we know how much we need others to be patient with us. 2-Love is kind to people because everyone is hurting and is need of a little kindness. 3-Love is not envious of other people; it is content with what it has. 4-Love does not boast about what it has or what it does. 5-Love is not proud: it has an honest, humble self-evaluation. 6- Love is not rude; it doesn't make other people feel uncomfortable; it says, "I'm sorry." 7-Love is not selfish; it is selfless and always giving of its time, talent and treasure. 8-Love is not irritable; it is not easily angered with people or events. It keeps a happy heart by the grace of God. 9-Love keeps no record of wrongs; it forgets other people's faults and failures because it forgives them. 10-Love does not delight in evil; it doesn't gossip, find fault, or brag about sin. It is sickened by sin. 11-Love rejoices in the truth; it rejoices in good behavior and thus encourages more good behavior; it rejoices when truth is taught and when it triumphs. 12-Love always protects; it bears all things; it covers the ugly parts and accents the positive parts; it makes others look good. 13-Love always trusts; it believes the best about other people; it is not suspicious of the loved one; it says, "I believe in you." 14-Love always hopes, even in the hardest times; it sees beyond the problems to the day when God will make all things new! 15-Love always perseveres, it never gives up on people and is never defeated by circumstances; it endures all these things. Take away just one of these ingredients and you have a recipe for something less than "love." But, there is only one who can love perfectly and that is Christ Jesus. And only as Christ's life becomes our life can we reflect the facets of His love. May our lives reflect His love! I Corinthians 13 is one of the greatest poems ever written.
