| Mark your calendars for
the Dancing Feet Festival!
Fun for you, fun for me, but most of all fun for the feet! On July 7, join ArtBarn & Tribal Spirits of the Sun for a celebration of life from 1-9 PM. Specializing in traditional music & dance, from 18th & 19th century America as well as a variety of dances from around the world, Duck for the Oyster is one of the Midwest’s best traditional dance bands. Kid tested, parent approved, & teacher recommended Will Hale & the Tadpole Parade Band will be living proof that family friendly music doesn’t have to be less than awesome! Illumination—Dance of Fire, will light up an unforgettable performance in the realm of the sensual, spiritual, & seductive, as it encourages the audience to connect to the hottest act around. The fire performance troupe offers a variety of unique talents including fire eating, breathing & spinning, as well as stilt walking & other circus arts. Also onstage, Mr. Fun will be doing his best to make as many people happy as possible while he tries to get audience members to try something new with his wonderful line of “skill toys”, Mystik Toys. Bharatanatyam South Indian dancer, Jocelyn Gorham, will be performing ancient Indian classical dances, (nayta yoga), which are based on Natya Shastra, the Bible of the classical Indian dance. It is the most widely practiced of Indian classical dance in South India. Jocelyn will be joined by husband, Rich Wilson, & son, Rowen, in performances of shadow puppetry based on children’s poems & stories. Local drumming & dance troupe, Tribal Spirits of the Sun, will share an exotic experience where drummers make the dancers dance & dancers make the drummers drum with a vision of vibrant color, beauty & harmony. End the day with a community drum circle. Concessions will be available on the grounds. All day tickets for the event are $12, adults, $10 seniors, $8 students with 5 and under free |
